Jackets Drop Friday Match at No. 24 Duke

DURHAM, N.C. – Georgia Tech women’s tennis fell to No. 24 Duke in a road contest Friday evening, 4-0. 

The Blue Devils (13-6, 7-2 ACC) managed to rally and grab the doubles point after a strong start on courts one and two from the Yellow Jackets (10-10, 4-5 ACC). In singles action, No. 66 Alejandra Cruz and Sabritt Dozier earned first-set wins but were unable to complete their matches before Duke secured the 4-0 decision. 

Cruz was leading, 4-1, in the third set against the 15th-ranked player in the country, Irina Balus, at the time of the stoppage. She was one point away from going up 5-1.
