NEWPORT, R.I. — Day two of the Hall of Fame ITA Grass Court Invitational saw the Yellow Jackets pick up five singles matches and a doubles contest. Georgia Tech wraps up the fall tournament on Sunday.
Play opened with Rasheeda McAdoo notching her second win of the season with a third-set tiebreak triumph over Denise Starr of Oklahoma State. Freshmen Kenya Jones, Nadia Gizdova and Nami Otsuka also were victorious on day two. Jones and Otsuka both picked up straight-set victories, while Gizdova took her match in a third-set tiebreak. Senior Alexa Anton-Ohlmeyer won Tech’s third match in a tiebreak, downing Natasha Gonzalez of Harvard.
Tech played three doubles matches, coming out victorious in one as the duo of Otsuka/Gizdova grabbed an 8-6 decision over Xiong/Ringblom of Harvard.
The final day of play opens on Sunday at 10 a.m. and will be streamed live on FloTennis.com for a subscription.
