THE FLATS – After rising to No. 5 in the latest ITA rankings, the Georgia Tech women’s tennis team returns to the court on Friday to host No. 48 Virginia Tech at 3 p.m. The Jackets conclude this two-match homestand at the Ken Byers Tennis Complex.
THE SCENE: Georgia Tech looks to remain unbeaten at home this season, owning a perfect 6-0 record when competing at the Ken Byers Tennis Complex. After opening the ACC season with a 5-2 win over Florida State last week, the Jackets hope to continuing winning ways, pushing its win streak to five-straight and move to 2-0 in league play. Overall, the Jackets boast a 10-2 record. Virginia Tech, ranked No. 48 in the latest ITA rankings, enters the weekend with a 7-2 overall mark and opens ACC play against the Jackets.

ITA RANKINGS – Georgia Tech moved up to the No. 5 team in the country after the latest polls were released this week by the ITA and are No. 10 in the USTA rankings. The Jackets also boast two singles players in the national rankings as Rasheeda McAdoo sits at No. 71, while freshman Nami Otuska owns a No. 102 rankings. Tech also boasts two doubles tandems in the national rankings as Johnnise Renaud and Rasheeda McAdoo are the No. 7 doubles tandem and Paige Hourigan/Kenya Jones sit at No. 30. Virginia Tech has one singles player nationally-ranked in Caroline Daxhelet at No. 92.
LAST TIME OUT – The Jackets opened ACC play last weekend hosting Florida State. Tech defeated the Seminoles 5-2 despite losing the doubles point for only the second time this season. The Jackets rebounded winning five singles matches to clinch the win.
