Jackets Close Out Regular Season at UGA This Weekend

THE FLATS – Georgia Tech track & field closes out the 2021 outdoor regular season this weekend as the Jackets head into rival territory in Athens, Ga., to compete at the Torrin Lawrence Memorial Meet hosted by the University of Georgia on April 30-May 1 at the Spec Towns Track.

The Yellow Jackets will toe the line against host UGA, Clemson, Columbia International University, Connecticut, Emory, Georgia State, Kennesaw State, North Carolina, N.C. State and Virginia Tech. The meet will be live streamed starting at 1 p.m. (EST) on Friday and at 8:30 a.m. (EST) on Saturday. Live streaming links for the meet can be found here.

Heading into the final week prior to post-season competition Tech has five student-athletes ranked within the top-30 in their respective events. Here’s how the Jackets hold up on the national stage:

No. 7 – Nicole Fegans – 5000m – 15:37.16
No. 14 – Bria Matthews – Long Jump – 6.47m/21′ 2.75″
No. 16 – Shanty Papakosta – High Jump – 1.79m/5′ 10.5″
No. 27 – Olivia Moore – Pole Vault – 4.17m/13′ 8.25″
No. 27 – Bria Matthews – Triple Jump – 13.08m/42′ 11″

The Torrin Lawrence Memorial Meet will be the Jackets last chance to compete before heading to Raleigh, N.C., on May 13-15 for ACC Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
