ATLANTA – After dropping the first game of the match, 13-15, the Georgia Tech 12-4, 3-1) volleyball team regrouped to defeat the Maryland Terrapins (9-7, 1-4) in the next three games, 15-5, 15-8, 15-12, on Saturday night in front of 763 fans.
Kyleen Bell led the Jackets with 24 kills on 36 attempts (.583) while Eida Mabry added 19 kills on 36 attempts (.472). Defensively, Tech was led by Kele Eveland and Bell who each tallied 14 digs. Bell also added seven block assists on the night. Eveland ran the offense for the Jackets and notched 54 assists in the match.
The Terrapins were led by Carey Brennan who had 16 kills and 15 digs, followed by Nnenna Amobi who tallied 11 kills. Georgia Tech returns to action at 7 p.m. on Wednesday as they travel to Winston-Salem, NC to face Wake Forest (10-2, 2-1).
