Howard Claims 25th Straight High Jump

WALNUT, Calif. – Junior Chaunte Howard tallied a season-best mark of 6 feet, 4 inches, in the women’s high jump to finish in first place for the 25th consecutive meet to lead the Georgia Tech women’s track and field team at the Mt. Sac Relays on Sunday.

Howard, a native of Riverside, Calif., tied for first place with U.S. Olympian teammate Amy Acuff in the women’s high jump invitational. Howard’s mark of 6 feet, 4 inches, is currently the best clear in the nation and the Atlantic Coast Conference.

The men’s and women’s track and field teams will compete at the outdoor ACC Championships in Tallahassee, Fla., this Thursday-Saturday, April 21-23.
