ATLANTA – Georgia Tech head basketball coach Paul Hewitt will host the first Paul Hewitt Golf Tournament and Auction Tuesday, Aug. 27, at Reynolds Plantation in Greensboro, Ga.
Proceeds from the golf tournament will benefit the Boys and Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta, a private, non-profit organization that strives to enhance the lives of at-risk young people through safe, productive after school programs since 1938.
In conjunction with the golf tournament, a live and silent auction will be held to raise money for the late Michael Isenhour, the former Yellow Jacket basketball player and December, 2001, graduate of Georgia Tech. Isenhour was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia on October of 2001, and lost a nine-month battle with the disease in June after ungergoing a bone marrow transplant. In Isenhour’s memory, at the request of his family, proceeds from the auction will be donated to the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society.
The schedule for the event begins with registration and practice at 10 a.m. on Aug. 27 at the Great Waters course at Reynolds Plantation. Shotgun start for golf is at 11:30 a.m. Box lunches will be provided, and a reception and the auction will follow the golf tournament.
Sponsorship levels begin at $225 individual spots and $800 for foursomes, up to $5,000 for eight playing spots. For more information about event, the cost and sponsorship levels, please call 404-894-5425 and ask for Peter Zaharis or Kisha Grimes.
Those interested in the causes but unable to play golf are encouraged to make a financial contribution to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta and/or the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society. All donations are tax deductible.
