ATLANTA – Georgia Tech cross country senior David Herren will compete at the 2007 NCAA Cross Country Championships on Monday, Nov. 19 at the LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course in Terre Haute, Ind.
“We are so proud of David for all that he has accomplished,” assistant coach Becky Megesi said. “The national championships is the perfect place for him to close out his cross country career. Terre Haute is a great place to run. David has run on this course this season, and competed very well. We look for him to do the same tomorrow.”
Herren, a senior from Rome, Ga., finished 11th overall at the South Region Championships to become only the fourth Jacket in the program’s history to qualify for the NCAA Championships. He is first Tech runner to qualify since Kyle Rabbitt reached the Championship in 2003.
The event will be hosted by Indiana State University and will kick off with the men’s 10k race at approximately 12:05 p.m. ET.
