Georgia Tech’s David Herren and Elena Linn secured spots on the 2007 All-Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Cross Country Teams as announced today by Commissioner John D. Swofford.
To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during her academic career.
Herren, a senior from Rome, Ga., was named to the men’s team for the second-straight year. In 2007, Herren garnered his first appearance at the NCAA Championships after placing 11th at the NCAA South Region Championships. His finish earned him All-South Region honors. Herren received his undergraduate degree from Tech last May in Biology and is currently working on his Master’s in Health Systems.
Linn, a senior from Marietta, Ga., earned her second-consecutive spot on the women’s academic team. This past season, Linn placed 22nd at the NCAA South Region Championships to garner All-South Region honors. She is majoring in Economics and International Affairs.
