THE FLATS – A five-star prospect ranked 82nd nationally when he enrolled at Tech, Nathan Rakitt has developed into an All-ACC caliber player at the top of the Tech lineup, and finished the 2013-14 spring season No. 115 in the ITA rankings.
Rakitt earned second-team All-ACC honors last spring, and he entered this spring No. 49 nationally in the ITA rankings after closing the fall with five straight victories at the Bulldog Scramble. Last summer, he received a wild-card invitation to the qualifying draw of the BB&T Atlanta Open, then earned a top-8 seed at the ITA Summer Championship and reached the semi-finals in singles.
The Industrial Engineering major also interned at UPS last summer. He grew up in Marietta, but his family now lives in the Washington, D.C., area.
