How it Happened
Georgia Tech held an early lead, 10-6, but the Hurricanes worked back to tie it 17-17. From there, Miami scored four quick points to take a 21-17 lead. The Yellow Jackets fought back to knot it, 24-24, but the Hurricanes prevailed to win the opening frame, 27-25.

The Yellow Jackets hit their stride in game two and never lost the lead. Up 15-12, Georgia Tech went on a 10-5 run to win game two, 25-17. Miami jumped out to an early lead in game three, 10-6, and the Jackets never recovered. Miami went up 2-1 in the match on a 25-18 set-three victory.

Quote
I feel like we executed really well defensively against them,” head coach Michelle Collier said. “We contained their offense and their middles didn’t get a lot of balls. We just didn’t side out enough. We got stuck in rotations where they ran four or five points, and we had to catch up. We knew that we were very close and we needed a little better execution offensively.

“We have to get ready for Florida State, which is another really good team. It’s going to be the same thing; we need to be able to side out and match offensively what they’re doing so that we can stay in the game.”
