@GTSwimDive: Men Win Again at Pitt

Pittsburgh, Pa. – The Georgia Tech swimming & diving team competed for the second time in less than 24 hours Saturday. The men defeated Pitt by a score of 160-135, while the women were defeated 191-109.

Moises Loschi continued his impressive run of form, earning victories in the 1000 free and 200 breast races. Other winners on the men’s side included Brian Woodbury (100 back), Ricky Lehner (100 breast), Ben Southern (100, 200 fly), Noah Harasz (50, 100 free), Yuval Safra (200 back) and Edwin Zhao (500 free).

Iris Wang, who competed in the Summer 2012 Olympic Games in London, won two more races (100, 200 free) after winning the same events Friday night at West Virginia. Fellow freshman Laura Branton took a pair of victories, winning the 100 and 200 butterfly races.

The Yellow Jackets will continue their season on November 4th when they travel to Athens to take on rival Georgia.

For the second time in program history, Georgia Tech and the CRC will serve as the host site for the NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships. The Women’s Championships will be held March 16-19, followed by the Men’s Championships March 23-26. Georgia Tech previously hosted the 2007 NCAA Championships and the CRC was also the site of the 1996 Summer Olympics swimming and diving competitions.

Admission to all home Georgia Tech swimming events are free and open to the public. Home events are held at the McAuley Aquatic Center located inside the Campus Recreation Center (CRC).
