Roberta Alison Fall Classic Draws
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Four members of the Georgia Tech women’s tennis team competed at the Roberta Alison Fall Classic today on the campus of Alabama.
Both doubles teams advanced to the second round of their draws this afternoon. Sophomore Alexa Anton-Ohlmeyer and freshman Alexis Prokopuik defeated Mississippi State’s Patrasc/Ronaldson, 8-7, in the Melissa Minor Draw. Junior Kendal Woodard and freshman Johnnise Renaud advanced to the next round of the Bianca Svensson Draw after their opponents withdrew.
In singles, Renaud fell in her first round match, 6-1, 6-4, to Patricia Fargas of DePaul. Renaud bounced back her second match and defeated LMU’s Andrea Crespo, 6-2, 6-2 in the Mary Anne Macfarlane Draw.
In the Taylor Lindsey Draw, Anton-Ohlmeyer won her match against LMU’s Anna Romeka, 6-1, 6-1. Anton-Ohlmeyer then fell to Sarah Lee of Michigan, 6-2, 6-4. Prokopuik was defeated in her first round match of the Shelley Godwin Draw by Alabama’s Luicelena Perez, 6-3, 6-3. She then came back to win against UAB’s Rachel Daniell, 7-6 (4), 2-6, 7-6 (8).
Woodard was edged by Northwestern’s Erin Larner 6-2, 6-1, in the Ashely Bentley Draw. In her next match, Woodard fell to Troy’s Sanae Ohta, 7-6, 1-6, 7-6 (6).
