THE FLATS – The Georgia Tech men’s track & field program received a national letter of intent from distance runner Frank Pittman. The Atlanta native specializes in the 800m, 1600m and 3200m and is considered the top returning boys high school miler in Georgia. He also runs cross country at Marist School.
“We’re excited to have Frank sign with our program,” cross country and distance coach Alan Drosky said. “He is an outstanding young man, a great student and tremendous talent. He’s a proven competitor, keeps his poise during the heat of the battle and has great range from the 800m to 5k cross country. From the fall cross country season through the spring track season, Frank will have a big impact on our team. His progression at Marist HS has been consistent and we look forward to helping him reach his ultimate potential in college.”
Frank is the son of Frank and Gabriella Pittman, and is coached by Eric Heintz. He is currently the president of the Marist chapter of the National Honor Society and would like to be an astronaut in the future.
