@GT_trackNfield Opens Yellow Jacket Invite

THE FLATS – The Georgia Tech track & field squad started its home opener Friday night, opening the Yellow Jacket Invitational at the George C. Griffin Track & Field Facility. Four distance runners also competed at the NC State Raleigh Relays.

In Atlanta, the Jackets competed in the men’s and women’s 5000m races. Alex Dunlap highlighted the night for Tech with a time of 15:26.81 and an eighth-place finish. In Raleigh, Melissa Fairey, Hayley Keadey, Matt Munns and Nahom Solomon competed in the 10k event. Fairey finished 18th with a time of 35:26.94.

The Jackets will continue competition at the Yellow Jacket Invite on Saturday morning at 11:30 p.m. ET with the long jump. Live results will be available on deltatiming.com.
