Jan. 26, 2016

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Georgia Tech’s Bria Matthews has been named the ACC Women’s Field Co-Performer of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday afternoon.

Matthews, a freshman from Morrow, Ga., had a triple jump of 13.33 meters at the Conference Clash in Birmingham on Friday, setting a Birmingham CrossPlex record and placing her second nationally in the event.

“Congratulations to Bria on the ACC recognition,” head women’s coach Alan Drosky said. “It’s a great honor and a well-deserved one. She had an outstanding meet at Birmingham and we’re excited about what is in store for her.”

The Jackets will be back in action Jan 29-30 as they travel to Nashville for the Vanderbilt Invite. It will be the second of three indoor meets at Vanderbilt this season.
