THE FLATS – Riding their second five-game win streak of the season, the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets are No. 11 in the latest College Football Playoff Top 25 released by the committee Tuesday night on ESPN. Tech is one of four ACC teams ranked by the CFP, joining No. 4 Florida State, No. 18 Clemson, and No. 21 Louisville.
Georgia Tech (10-2) has moved up in each of the last five College Football Top 25 polls. Tech has been ranked for five straight weeks. The Yellow Jackets are ranked 12th in both the AP and Amway Coaches Top 25 polls.
Led by ACC Coach of the Year Paul Johnson, the Jackets are playing in their third ACC Championship Game in the last six years (2009, 2012, 2014).
No. 11 Georgia Tech will vie for the program’s 17th conference title Saturday against No. 4 Florida State in the 2014 Dr Pepper ACC Football Championship Game. Georgia Tech will face a Top 25 team for the third consecutive game for the first time since 1998.
