ATLANTA – Georgia Tech junior right side hitter Ulrike Stegemann, a 2006 all-ACC honoree, has earned first-team AVCA All-Region Honors for her play this season, as announced by the American Volleyball Coaches Association this week.
Stegemann finished her third season at Georgia Tech with a .311 hitting percentage, while also averaging 2.83 kills, 1.89 digs, 0.55 assists, 0.42 blocks and 0.18 service aces per game. The Schwerin, Germany native played in a total of 125 games for the Yellow Jackets in 2006.
“Ulli has been a dominating factor in our lineup her entire career,” said Bond Shymansky, “but she has really developed a strong back row game this year to become a more complete player. We are excited for her senior season and count on her to improve and lead the way for the Jackets.”
She joins 10 other ACC players on the All-Region team, which is highlighted by ACC Player of the Year Ali Hausfield of Duke.
