Sept. 8, 2005

Georgia Tech’s doubles team of David North and Marko Rajevac, who earned All-American honors during the 2004 season, are ranked No. 9 in the first ITA Poll of the season, as released by the Intercollegeiate Tennis Association Tuesday. The mark is the highest ranking for a doubles team from Tech since 2003 when former All-Americans Roger Anderson and Scott Schnugg finished the season ranked tenth.

North and Rajevac, who advanced to the quarterfinals of the 2004 NCAA Doubles Championship before falling to eventual national champion John Isner and Antonio Ruiz of Georgia, finished the 2004 season with a 17-10 record.

The Yellow Jackets will begin the fall season with some team members attending the Alabama Fall Invitational in Tuscaloosa, Ala., while the remaining team will participate in the Thomasville Collegiate Invitational in Thomasville, Ga., September 16-18 before traveling to Athens, Ga., to participate in the Georgia Fall Tournament September 23-26.
