Today’s practice began as usual with Coach Jo’s “Thought For the Day”, and warm-ups. However, today didn’t turn out to be just any ordinary day of practice (any day is never any ordinary day of practice). Today our team was mentally and physically tested. When it got tough, we had to encourage each other and keep each other up. When someone wanted to quit, we came together and agreed on one thing: we all needed each other. We were all going through the same struggles inside of ourselves. We realized that we’re a team, and we had to pick each other up so that we could get through the rest of practice. Coach Jo made us realize that we are not the only team that’s working hard right now. Therefore, we have to be better than everyone else. It was tough to accomplish, but we came back stronger and had a great second half of practice. We couldn’t have made it through the rest of practice without each other’s constant help and support.
Today not only focused on mental toughness and character, but it also focused on playing great defense. We pride ourselves for limiting our opponents in scoring, and we’re going to continue the tradition with hard work and determination. As a team, we openly accept all of Coach Jo’s challenges because we know that she is getting us ready for a great and successful basketball season.
