Georgia Tech Track Set For NCAA East Preliminaries

THE FLATS – Fourteen members of the Georgia Tech track and field team are set to compete in the NCAA East Preliminaries Thursday-Saturday at Irwin Belk Track inside of Aggie Stadium on the campus of North Carolina A&T in Greensboro, N.C.

Action begins for the Yellow Jackets Thursday when Jeremy Greenwald runs the first round of the 1,500 meters at 6 p.m..  Broderick Snoddy races in the first round of the 100 meters at 6:55 p.m. Brandon Lasater, Zack Fanelty and Cole Jackob will run the first round of the 800 meters at 8:35 p.m. and Katie Townsend will compete in the 10,000-meter semifinals at 9 p.m.

Thursday’s field events will see Myles McDavid in the men’s long jump (1 p.m.), Aaron Unterberger in the pole vault (4:30 p.m.) and Julienne McKee, Jhanelle McLeod, Jasmine Kent and Donjhae Jones in the women’s long jump (5:30 p.m.).

The quarterfinal events of the 100 meters and 800 meters are scheduled for Friday at 6:45 p.m. and 7:15 p.m., respectively, and the quarterfinal of the 1,500 meters is set for Saturday at 6:45 p.m.

Saturday will also see the jumpers compete. Jonathan Gardner will take part in the men’s triple jump (1 p.m.), and McKee and McLeod will take on their second events of the week in the women’s triple jump at 5:30 p.m.

Mykhail Chambers wraps up the Jackets time at the NCAA East Preliminaries in the high jump Saturday at 6 p.m.
