ATLANTA (April 3) — Georgia Tech’s Mark Teixeira earned Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Week honors while Yellow Jacket pitcher Cory Vance garnered ACC Pitcher of the Week honors after outstanding performances in five wins over NC State and Charleston Southern last week.

Teixeira, a sophomore third baseman, earned his second ACC weekly honor after recording 14 hits in 21 at bats (.667) in five games. The Severna Park, Md., native recorded six RBI as well as three doubles, a triple and a home run. Teixeira tallied at least two hits in all five Tech games in leading the Jackets to a perfect 5-0 record.
