Georgia Tech Sports Day

ATLANTA–Yellow Jacket fans are invited to Georgia Tech Sports Day on Saturday, April 16, an entire day of fun and activities, including a football scrimmage and a key baseball game.

Georgia Tech Sports Day, sponsored by Delta Air Lines, kicks off with the Yellow Jackets’ final spring football scrimmage, scheduled for 10:30 a.m. at Bobby Dodd Stadium. Admission is free.

Following the scrimmage, fans and families can move outside Bobby Dodd Stadium to the top of Peter’s Parking Deck for autographs and fun. Tech student-athletes, including the football and basketball teams, will be available for photographs and autographs, and Buzz, the Rambling Wreck and the Tech cheerleaders will be on hand. There will be interactive games for children, face painting, music, food and giveaways.

Fans can also select and purchase 2005 season football tickets.

Then fans can choose a Tech sporting event for the afternoon as the Yellow Jackets’ No. 1-ranked baseball team hosts Florida State at 1 p.m. at Russ Chandler Stadium, the sixth-ranked women’s tennis team faces Duke at the Bill Moore Tennis Center at 12 noon, and the No. 19 softball team hosts UAB in 1 p.m. doubleheader at Glenn Field.

GEORGIA TECH BASEBALL VS. FLORIDA STATE What: See two of the nation’s top teams in a key ACC battle When: Saturday, April 16, 1 p.m. Where: Russ Chandler Stadium Tickets: $10 for reserved chairback seat, $5 for reserved bench seat. Can be purchased in advance on-line or at the gate. Parking: Free parking in Peter’s Parking Deck

GEORGIA TECH SOFTBALL VS. UAB What: See Georgia Tech’s nationally-ranked softball team, led by all-America pitcher Jessica Sallinger When: Saturday, April 16, 1 p.m. (doubleheader) Where: Glenn Field (located at 14th Street & Mecaslin Street, directly behind CBS-46 TV) Admission: Free

GEORGIA TECH WOMEN’S TENNIS VS. DUKE What: See Georgia Tech’s Top 10 women’s tennis team, led by nationally-ranked freshman Kristi Miller, against another Top 10 team When: Saturday, April 16, 12 noon Where: Bill Moore Tennis Center (Fowler Street, across from Alexander Memorial Coliseum) Admission: Free Parking: Free parking in AMC & O’Keefe lots
