TOP STORYLINES
• No. 16 Georgia Tech baseball will reignite Clean, Old-Fashioned Hate when it takes on archrival Georgia on March 3-5.
• The series will begin in Athens on Friday (6 p.m.) before shifting to Georgia Tech on Saturday (2 p.m.) and finishing up at Coolray Field on Sunday (3 p.m.) as part of the 20th annual Spring Classic for the Kids.
• Tech and UGA are its most commonly played opponent, standing at 384 games played since 1898. UGA leads the all-time series 215-167-2 with Tech winning three of the last four annual series.
• Georgia Tech has looked just as potent at the plate as in year’s past, hitting .330 through nine games for 47 extra-base hits and 22 home runs.
• Five Jackets are hitting .300 or better, led by two-way talent Jackson Finley (.545) and Jack Rubenstein (.500).
• Also hitting .300 are Jake DeLeo (.432), Angelo Dispigna (.375), and Stephen Reid (.333).
• Dispigna joined Friday night starter Dawson Brown as a pair of National Players of the Week, giving Tech three so far this year.
• Dispigna hit .412 last week and blasted three home runs, including a back-breaking home run to put the game out of reach on Friday against Tennessee Tech.
• Brown punched out a career 12 batters in a career-long 6.0 innings on Friday to get his first decision of the season.
• Overall, Tech’s pitching staff recorded 18 strikeouts on Friday against TTU, one shy of tying the school record.
• Finley will be Tech’s Sunday starter at Coolray Field. He currently sports a 1-0 record and 1.00 ERA in two starts, giving up just one earned run in 9.0 innings, striking out five and walking just one.
