Georgia Tech #ProJackets Basketball Report

THE FLATSDerrick Favors submitted himself in the top 5 in rebounds in Utah Jazz franchise history, Thaddeus Young and the Indiana Pacers have won seven of their last 10 games, and Josh Okogie fills the stats sheet in a win… That and more in this edition of the Georgia Tech #ProJackets Basketball Report.

Young, tied his season high in points (26) in a win over the Cleveland Cavaliers. He would then finish the night with 26 points, five rebounds, three assists, and two steals. Young is averaging 12.5 ppg and 5.9 rpb while the Pacers currently hold the three seed-just behind the Milawukee Bucks and Toronto Raptors. In Young’s last five games he has been averaging 14.4 points and 6.8 rebounds. The Pacers next game will come against the New York Knicks on Friday night.

Iman Shumpert and the Sacramento Kings currently sit in 10th place in the West with Shumpert averaging 9.3 ppg. However, he missed Monday’s and Tuesday’s games due to an injured finger and remains questionable for Thursday’s game against the Detroit Pistons. Shumpert and the Kings currently sit eight games back of the first place team Denver Nuggets and are slightly below .500. Their record for the season is 20-21, winning four of their last 10 games.

The Jazz started the season off slow but have since gained some momentum. Currently, sitting in 9th, the Jazz have won six of their last 10 games as they make a push to be a playoff team. Favors’ has scored double digit points in four of his last games including a 3-2 record over that span.

Last Sunday, Okogie stuffed the stats sheet finishing with eight points, three blocks, two rebounds, and one steal in 34 minutes of action. The Timberwolves promoted Ryan Saunders as their new head coach after firing Tom Thibodeau and have gone 1-0 since. Okogie is averaging 6.5 ppg along with 3.0 rpg as the Timberwolves have gone 6-4 in their last 10 games and sit in 11th place. reported before Christmas that Marcus Georges-Hunt underwent knee surgery and would miss extended playing time for the Maine Red Claws in the G League, though there has been very little reported about it.
