Georgia Tech Cross Country Teams Set to Compete in Wolfpack Invitational

ATLANTA – The Georgia Tech men’s and women’s cross country teams will continue their 2000 campaign this weekend by competing in the Wolfpack Invitational in Raleigh, N.C., hosted by NC State on Saturday, September 16.

The Yellow Jacket men’s team will be looking to continue its success from the Mitchell Invitational a week ago, where they took home the team title. Joe Stegall (Rydal, Ga.) captured the first individual crown of his career, leading a parade of Georgia Tech runners that swept the top three places in the meet. Joining Stegall in that pack were freshmen Kyle Rabbitt (Red Oak, Ga.) and Brendon Mahoney (Cumming, Ga.).

The Georgia Tech women’s team will look to improve on it’s third place finish to open the year at the Mitchell Invitational. Sophomore Amy Dock (Charlotte, N.C.) was the Jacket’s top performer from last week as she finished sixth in Athens, Ga.

The Wolfpack Invitational will feature a number of ACC teams as the meet will allow schools a preview of the course that will be used for the conference championship on October 28.
