GREENSBORO, N.C. – Georgia Tech freshman defensive end KeShun Freeman was named ACC Defensive Lineman of the Week, the conference office announced Monday. Freeman is the fifth Yellow Jacket honored this season and the second in as many weeks.
Freeman led all Yellow Jackets defensive linemen with five tackles (four solo), one sack and one TFL in Georgia Tech’s 35-10 Homecoming win over Virginia. He also forced a Virginia fumble at the end of the first half and blocked a punt. The two plays marked Freeman’s career-first forced fumble and career-first blocked kick.
The LaGrange, Ga., native has 34 tackles, 3.5 sacks and 8.0 tackles for loss through nine games this season. He leads all ACC freshmen in both sacks and tackles for loss.
Georgia Tech (7-2, 4-2) travels to Raleigh, N.C., to face NC State (5-4, 1-4) for the first of its two games against ACC Atlantic teams. Saturday’s game will kick at 12:30 p.m. ET on the ACC Network.
