THE FLATS – Georgia Tech sophomore diver Max Fowler has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Men’s Diver of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday.
On the boards at the Georgia Tech Invite, Fowler swept the all three diving events, winning the 1-meter, 3-meter and platform events. He also was the top qualifier in prelims in both the 1-meter and 3-meter.
In Friday’s 3-meter event, Fowler totaled a 429.40 to take the event, beating the second-place finisher by 20 points.
He then claimed the 1-meter dive in Saturdays finals, winning with a score of 398.0, after scoring a 405.20 in prelims, just two points off his personal best and the Tech 1-meter record (407.25).
The sophomore closed the weekend with a third win, winning the platform with a 340.40
