OMAHA, Neb. – Senior Noah Copeland, juniors Johnny Hagaman and Agatha Kwasnik, sophomore Travis Wagner as well as incoming freshman Heidi Hatteberg will be representing Georgia Tech at the Olympic Swimming Trials June 29-July 6 at the Qwest Center in Omaha, Neb. These five Jackets are looking to be members of Team USA at the upcoming 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, China, which will be held August 8-24.
“Everybody who is entered in the meet has a chance to make the team,” head coach Stu Wilson said. “We’ve seen swimmers who nobody has heard about placing in the top eight or 16 at Olympic Trials. The atmosphere at Trials will be intense and stressful. Whoever comes in with a great attitude and can stay relaxed will do very well.”
Copeland will compete in the 100-free, 200-free and 100-fly. Hagaman is entered in the 100-back, while Kwasnik will swim the 100-free. Wagner will participate in the 100-fly and Hatteberg will swim the 100-back.
Below is the complete schedule of the week’s events including the slots that will air on NBC and USA. Check back to www.ramblinwreck.com throughout the week for updated results on the five Georgia Tech swimmers.
