Aug. 11, 2004

ATLANTA – Georgia Tech women’s tennis team continues to rack up academic honors for the 2003-04 school year, as five Yellow Jackets were named to the ACC Academic Honor Roll.

Seniors Sekita Grant and Maria Nieto joined sophomore Lyndsay Shosho in earning the honor for the second time in their careers, while sophomore Kelly Anderson and freshman Alison Silverio were first-time honorees.

Grant, Nieto, Anderson and Silverio were also named to the 2003-04 ITA All-Academic Team earlier this summer.

Georgia Tech had 112 athletes named to the ACC Academic Honor Roll this year, led by 36 track athletes and 24 swimmers and football players. There were six Yellow Jacket baseball players to earn the honor, while tennis and golf added five apiece. Georgia Tech’s basketball, volleyball and softball teams each had four athletes named to the ACC Academic Honor Roll as well.
