Five Jackets Post NCAA Region Qualifying Marks at Alabama Relays

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Georgia Tech’s Ashlee Kidd, Chaunte Howard, Andriane Lapsley, Shantia Moss and Dana Rogers tallied NCAA Region Qualifying marks to lead the women’s track and field team at the Alabama Relays on Saturday afternoon in the opening outdoor meet of the season.

Kidd won the women’s 200-meter dash with a time of 23.81. Howard cleared the bar at 6’0.50″ in the women’s high jump to post her 22nd straight win in the event.

Lapsley ran a personal-record time of 11.58 in the women’s 100-meter dash to finish first for the Jackets. Rogers and Moss clocked times of 13.58 and 13.62, respectively, in the women’s 100-meter high hurdles to finish in second and third place for Tech.

Sophomore Mary Chind ran a personal-best time of 4:42.42 in the women’s 1500 to finish in fifth place. Senior Jennifer Lentz logged a third-place finish in the women’s 800 meters with a time of 2:14.60, while sophomore Jennifer Sims posted a time of 2:16.08 to finish fourth in the women’s 1500.

Senior Dore’ Madere finished fifth in the women’s discus with a toss of 145’02”.

Junior Brandy Depland tallied a mark of 19’2.50″ in the women’s long jump to finish in fifth place for the Jackets. Freshman Shantrell Moss ran a personal-best time of 12.08 in the women’s 100-meter dash to finish in seventh place.

The Yellow Jackets will wrap up competition at the Alabama Relays on Sunday afternoon.
