GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Georgia Tech track & field started competition at the Florida Relays on Friday in Gainesville, Fla. with the field athletes performing particularly well.
In the men’s long jump, Cameron O’Neal posted the best mark of any long jumper at the meet. He leapt to a mark of 7.93m (26’0.25”), improving his personal best by 0.25m and coming 2.5” shy of the 26-year-old program record.
On the women’s side, All-ACC performers Olivia Moore and Shanty Papakosta turned in top 10 performances in their events. Moore finished third among attached pole vaulters with a mark of 4.66m (13’3.75”). Papakosta came in sixth in the women’s high jump with a mark of 1.72m (5’7.75”).
Day two of the Florida Relays starts Saturday at 11 a.m.
