Raleigh Relays Day One Results | Florida Relays Day Two Results
RALEIGH, N.C./GAINESVILLE, Fla. — On the first day of both the Raleigh Relays and Florida Relays for the Yellow Jackets, the Georgia Tech track and field team saw Nicole Fegans, Hana Herndon, and other Georgia Tech student-athletes perform at a high level on Friday.
“We had some good performances today. Ben Jean ran a very solid 400m race today and Frank Pittman, Michael Reilly, and Henrik Anderson ran very competitive races in the 1500m,” noted men’s track and field head coach Grover Hinsdale. “Avery Bartlett had the performance of the day with his performance in the 800m.”
Jean would finish 20th in the 400-meter event with a time of 46.86 and Bartlett turned in a second place finish in the 800-meter event with a personal-best time of 1:47.54.
Pittman also ran a good time. He would finish 18th with a time of 3:51.21 in the 1500m, and Reilly finished with a time of 3:52.29 and to sit at 22nd in the 1500m.
Not to be topped by Pittman and Reilly, Anderson turned in a personal-best time of 3:52.52, to add to his 24th place finish in the 1500m.
“We had a really good start to the weekend both in Gainesville and Raleigh. Annie Gallagher had a nice personal best and the 4 x 400m relay had its best time of the season. The 5000m results in Raleigh were outstanding. Nicole Fegans and Hana Herndon both hit ACC qualifying mark’s and Nicole moved to second on our all-time list,” said women’s track and field head coach Alan Drosky.
In the 5000-meter event, Fegans finished strong turning in a 13th place finish to go along with a personal-best mark of 16:16.28. Herndon, meanwhile, ran for a 27th place finish, a personal-best mark of 16:32.43.
Action in the Florida Relays will continue tomorrow in Gainesville in with the discus.
