FLUSHING, N.Y. – The invitations keep coming for Georgia Tech men’s tennis junior Christopher Eubanks. Eubanks was announced to the field of the American Collegiate Invitational on Thursday afternoon.
The American Collegiate Invitational features 16 of the top collegiate tennis players, eight male and eight female. Eubanks’ membership on the USTA Collegiate Team this summer put him in contention for the invitation. Eubanks is one of three student-athletes representing the ACC, joining Virginia’s Ryan Shane and Thai-Son Kwiatkowski.
The winner of the American Collegiate Invitational receives a wildcard entry to the main singles draw in the 2017 U.S. Open if he is ranked No. 120 or better by the entry deadline. Otherwise, he will receive a wild-card entry to the qualifying tournament of the 2017 U.S. Open.
The American Collegiate Invitational runs from Thursday, Sept. 8 to Saturday, Sept. 10. It is played at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing, N.Y.
The invitational is the final event slated for Eubanks’ busy summer. His summer is highlighted by gaining entry to the main draws for singles and doubles in the BB&T Atlanta Open and a wild-card entry to the qualifying tournament of the U.S. Open. The 6-foot-7 All-American is slated to play for a spot in the main draw of the U.S. Open on Aug. 23 or 24.
