DuBard Named To All-ACC Women's Cross Country Academic Team

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Georgia Tech’s Mary Kate DuBard was named to the 2009 All-ACC Academic women’s cross country team on Thursday as announced by ACC Commissioner John D. Swofford.

To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during her academic career.

With the announcement, DuBard earns All-ACC academic honors for the second straight season. The sophomore from Rock Hill, S.C. posted top marks for the Yellow Jackets in five of the six events they participated in on the 2009 season, including a 22nd place finish at the NCAA South Region championships.

DuBard, who also runs track for the Jackets, is an industrial engineering major and has posted a 3.6 cumulative GPA in her academic career.
