Drosky Named ACC Coach of the Year

Feb. 21, 2002

After guiding the Georgia Tech women’s track and field program to the Atlantic Coast Conference Indoor Championship for the first time in school history, Alan Drosky was named ACC Coach of the Year, as voted upon by the league head coaches.

Drosky, in his seventh season at the helm of the Yellow Jacket program, was named ACC Indoor Track and Field Coach of the Year for the second time, also earning the award in 1999. His Jackets garnered 122 points at last weekend’s conference meet to unseat nine-time defending champion North Carolina.

The title represents just the second ACC team championship won by a Georgia Tech women’s squad, following the 1995 ACC volleyball crown.
