March 10, 2014

THE FLATS – Georgia Tech’s Daniel Miller was named to the All-Atlantic Coast Conference men’s basketball third team Monday by the Atlantic Coast Sports Media Association (ACSMA).

Media and Coaches All-ACC team announcements

Miller also was named to the ACC All-Defensive team by both ACSMA and the conference coaches. The media and coaches all-conference teams both were announced Monday afternoon.

Miller, a 6-11 ½ center, has enjoyed his finest season in a Georgia Tech uniform, averaging 11.3 points and 7.9 rebounds per game while shooting 58.9 percent from the floor and blocking nearly 2.5 shots per game. He ranks third in the ACC in rebound average and second in blocked shots.

His numbers are as good or better in conference play – 11.9 points and 7.7 rebounds per game, 56.3 percent shooting from the floor and 2.85 blocked shots per game.

The senior from Loganville, Ga., has played in every Tech game during his four-year career (124), and will become the second Yellow Jacket and 10th ACC player to accomplish that in history if he continues to start the rest of Tech’s games. He ranks eighth at Tech in career rebounds (807) and No. 2 in blocked shots (283). He is 11th all-time in the ACC in blocks.

Miller received the second-most votes by both the coaches and the media for their All-Defensive teams. He is the lone repeat selection from the 2013 team.
