THE FLATS — Junior Nathan Daniel and senior Brandon Lasater of the Georgia Tech track and field team were named to the 2015 All-Atlantic Coast Conference Indoor Track and Field Academic Team, the ACC announced Wednesday.
To be eligible for All-ACC Academic Team consideration, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during his or her academic career.
Daniel majors in electrical engineering and maintains a 3.47 cumulative GPA. The Atlanta, Ga., native had a successful indoor track season improving on his indoor pole vault best with a first-place finish and height of 5.05m (16-6.75) at the Doc Hale Meet.
Lasater is also an electrical engineering major and owns a 3.54 cumulative GPA. The Perry, Ga., native placed in the top three in five events, including two victories, during the indoor season. He improved his personal-best mile time by 26 seconds and won the 800 meters at the Samford Invite.
The Jackets continue outdoor competition May 6 at the Seminole Twilight before the ACC Championships in Tallahassee, Fla., May 14-16.
