Cross Country Teams Run Over Competition

TROY, Ala. — Georgia Tech’s men’s and women’s cross country teams each won their respective titles Saturday at the Troy State Invitational.

The women’s team captured its third straight win in as many events as junior Becky Megesi (Jonesboro, Ga.) captured her third consecutive individual title to lead the way. She won the 4,000-meter event in a time of 14:44.30. She defeated Georgia State’s Sarah Howard by three seconds for the win. The Yellow Jackets placed four in the top 10 to total just 33 points on the day. Tech completed its dual-meet season with a 43-5 record.

The men’s team won its second title in its last three events and placed five individuals in the top 10 to record just 34 points. The Yellow Jackets ended the day 39 points ahead of second-place Morehouse. Tech ended its regular season with a 45-3 in dual meet competition.

Tech ran its final competition before heading to the ACC Championships, which will be run on Nov. 7 in Charlottesville, Va.
