TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Georgia Tech men’s and women’s cross country teams will run at the 2015 NCAA South Region Cross Country Championships on Friday morning. The Jackets will be competing against a field of 36 schools, including rival Georgia and conference foes Florida State and Miami. It will be hosted by the University of Alabama at the Harry Pritchett Running Park.
“It should be a great competition with NCAA qualifying spots and final regional rankings on the line,” head coach Alan Drosky said. “The men come off the ACC Championships with confidence that they are ready to compete with the top teams on our region. After last year’s sixth place finish we’re looking to improve on that. Brandon Lasater and Jeremy Greenwald will race for our cross team for the last time and they are as tough and talented as they come.
“This is a real gut-check time for the women, and they know each of them needs to step up this Friday,” added Drosky. “Melissa Fairey has been first for us several times and is capable of a great race, as are each of the women.”
