Cross Country Concludes Season at NCAA South Regionals

Georgia Tech concluded its cross country season on Saturday as it competed in the NCAA South Regional Championships in Gainesville, Fla. The women finished ninth in the 6K race while the men placed 14th in the 10K. Alabama won the men’s meet and Tennessee finished first in the women’s race.

Sophomore Nisha Kurian was the top Tech finisher for the women as she placed 33rd with a time of 22:08. Juniors Mary Chind (22:22) and Jenny Sims (22:25) finished 42nd and 43rd, respectively. Other Jackets finishers were sophomore Elena Linn (22:38), senior Misty Dirksen (23:15), sophomore Maria Hampton (23:54), and freshman Katina Zuganelis (24:00).

On the men’s side, sophomore Nazar Trilisky placed 47th and was the Jackets’ top runner with a time of 32:15. Also competing for Tech were junior David Herren (33:25), senior Rob Kuhn (33:55), and freshmen Will Bonn (34:04), Matt Kinsel (34:17), Greg Johnson (35:29), and Casey Gramling (35:56).
