The Georgia Tech baseball team begins the 2011 season Friday, Feb. 18 when it opens a three-game series with Kent State. With seventeen newcomers on the 2011 team, RamblinWreck.com will hold a Q&A with at least one freshman everyday until opening day in the “Countdown to first pitch” series.

RW.com: Name one thing that fans don’t know about you…
ME: I decided to come to Tech two weeks before move in day.
RW.com: Why did you choose Georgia Tech?
ME: It’s a good school, with a great baseball program.
RW.com: What would be your ultimate sports center highlight.
ME: In the 2008 state playoffs, in the bottom of the 7th in the final game of the series, there was a collision at home plate where I held onto the ball for the final out of the series.
RW.com: Do you have any game or practice superstitions?
ME: I put on my cloths in the exact same order
RW.com: Name the most interesting place you’ve visited…
ME: Salt Lake City
RW.com: Interests outside of baseball…
ME: Fishing, Hunting, Boating
RW.com: What’s your nickname? Reasoning behind it?
ME: Big Meech, our strength coach Steve Tamborra started calling me that one day, and it just caught on.
RW.com: Who is the most famous person you’ve ever met?
ME: Hubbie Brown
