ATLANTA – Fourth-ranked Georgia Tech, the 2007 ACC Regular Season Co-Champions, has earned the No. 2 seed in the upcoming ACC Women’s Tennis Championships, which is scheduled to begin this Thursday at the Cary Tennis Park in Cary, N.C.
For the third-straight season, the Yellow Jackets, the two-time defending ACC Tournament Champions, have earned at least a share of the ACC Regular Season title after finishing with a 10-1 record against conference opponents. Their only blemish came in Georgia Tech’s first ACC match of the season at Clemson, which also finished 10-1 in 2007.
Georgia Tech has received a bye in the first round of competition and will begin play Friday at 12 noon against the winner of Thursday’s match between the seventh-seeded Duke Blue Devils and the No. 10 seed, Virginia Tech.
Exclusive coverage of the ACC Women’s Tennis Championship will be broadcast live on the internet every day at www.ACCSelect.com from April 19-22. Tech fans may also follow live stats at www.ramblinwreck.com.
