Clooten Returns, as Bulldogs Take Early Lead on Jackets

ATLANTA – The Georgia Tech-Georgia dual got underway Friday afternoon at the Griffin Track, as the hammer throw was contested. After the event, Georgia holds an 8-3 lead over Georgia Tech on the women’s side, while the UGA men have a 10-1 lead over the Jackets.

On the women’s side, Georgia Tech senior Alana Clooten performed in the hammer for the first time on the 2010 season and registered a 182 feet, four inch mark to finish second overall. The other Tech competitor on the women’s side was Bailey Wagner, who posted a throw of 140 feet, six inches to place fifth.

For the men, Duncan Thompson was the only Yellow Jacket to perform and registered a throw of 167 feet, one inch to finish fourth.

The rest of the Georgia Tech-Georgia Dual Meet will be contested tomorrow at the Griffin Track beginning at 4:15 p.m. Fans are reminded that live results will be available tomorrow afternoon at www.deltatiming.com.
