THE BASICS:
· Clemson’s Eli White hit a pair of home runs and the Tigers evened the weekend series with an 11-3 win over Georgia Tech on Saturday at Russ Chandler Stadium.
· A.J. Murray homered for the third time this week and drove in a pair for Tech.
· The Yellow Jackets slipped to 25-17 overall and 10-13 in the ACC, while the Tigers improved to 23-20, 12-10.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
· Murray’s two-out RBI double to right gave the Yellow Jackets a 1-0 lead in the first after Matt Gonzalez kept the inning alive with a two-out single up the middle.
· Clemson responded with a pair of home runs in the third inning to give the visitors a lead they would not relinquish. The first of White’s two blasts was a two-run shot and two batters later, Tyler Krieger smacked a solo shot to right.
· White’s second home run to left allowed Clemson to add to its lead in the fifth.
· Murray hammered a solo shot over the hitter’s eye in center in the sixth and Blake Jackson’s pinch-hit sac fly in the seventh allowed Tech to close the gap to 5-3.
· But Clemson plated three in the eighth and three in the ninth to pull away for good.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
· Murray finished the game 2-for-4 with a homer and a double. Over Tech’s last three games, Murray has hit three home runs and driven in six.
· Connor Justus and Ryan Peurifoy each had two-hit efforts for the Yellow Jackets.
· White finished 3-for-4 to lead Clemson, while White and Steven Duggar each drove in four runs.
· Cole Pitts took the loss, allowing four runs and four hits in four innings (0-5).
· Zack Erwin scattered seven hits over seven innings and earned the win (3-2).
· Tech recorded two more outfield Saturday and has recorded four in the series. Peurifoy gunned a runner at the plate in the eighth and Matt Gonzalez threw out a runner at third in the ninth.

QUOTABLE:
“We didn’t do a very good job of locating pitches and we walked a bunch of guys, and hit a couple. Tough day for us, but the good news is we have a chance to bounce back and win the series tomorrow. Pitts just got a couple balls up and they didn’t miss them.”
–Head Coach Danny Hall

UP NEXT: The Yellow Jackets and Tigers play the rubber-game of the weekend series at 1 p.m. on Sunday. The game is live on ESPN3.
