Georgia Tech running back Tashard Choice was named to ESPN.com’s “All-Bowl Team” after rushing for a career-high 169 yards against 12th-ranked West Virginia in the Toyota Gator Bowl.
Choice, a rising senior from Riverdale, Ga., gained his yards against a Mountaineer team that was allowing less than 90 yards rushing per game. He scored two touchdowns on runs of three and five yards and added four receptions for 32 yards for a total of 201 all-purpose yards, also a career-best.
That performance gave Choice seven straight 100-yard games and a school-record eight on the season. He averaged 136 yards rushing over the final six games.
A second-team all-Atlantic Coast Conference selection, Choice capped a season in which he led the ACC with 1,473 yards rushing, the second-best season total in school history. He scored 12 touchdowns.
Choice enters his senior season with 1,986 yards in a Tech uniform to rank ninth on the Jackets’ career rushing list after just two seasons.
