THE FLATS – Celebrating 60 years of Black students matriculating at Georgia Tech, the GT Black Alumni Organization (GTBAO) is recognizing 60 former student-athletes for their successes.
As part of a year-long celebration, 22 student-athletes were welcomed back at Georgia Tech’s football game against North Carolina on Sept. 25 and were recognized on field during halftime at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. A second event will take place in the spring.
These alumni are being recognized for walking in the footsteps of the first three pioneers on campus and setting an example for others to pursue excellence. They are recognized for their outstanding athletic achievements, as well as their amazing professional successes.
On Saturday, Georgia Tech welcomed back: Natasha Alleyne (track and field), Mike Anderson (track and field), Niesha Butler (women’s basketball), Willie Clay (football), Carlton Fleming (baseball), Dante Jones (football), Kisha Ford-Torres (women’s basketball), Kent Hill (football), Keith Holmes (football), Ronnie Mabra (football), Curtis McGee (football), Monique Mead (volleyball), Nelrae Pasha-Ali (track and field), Tyrone Ross (track and field), Lucius Sanford (football), Kofi Smith (football), Cedric Stallworth (football), Ryan Stewart (football), Vernon Strickland (football), Tabitha Turner-Wilkins (women’s basketball), Marlon Williams (football) and Shayla J. Wright (women’s basketball).
