Cave Places Second at Alex Wilson Invitational

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Sophomore Juan Cave finished second in the high jump to lead the Georgia Tech men’s track and field team at the Alex Wilson Invitational on Saturday on the campus of Notre Dame.

Cave, a sophomore from Voorhees, N.J., cleared the bar at 6 feet, 10 ¼ inches. Senior James Lemons II placed sixth in the triple jump with an NCAA provisional qualifying mark of 50 feet, 6 ¼ inches. Following Lemons in the triple jump was freshman Alphonso Jordan, who finished in eighth place with a mark of 48 feet, 6 inches.

Dave Ford, a sophomore from Indianapolis, Ind., placed ninth in the 60-meter hurdles by crossing the line in a time of 8.32.

The Jackets will close out the indoor season next weekend, March 9-10 at the NCAA Indoor Championships in Fayetteville, Ark.
