ATLANTA – – Georgia Tech senior Kelly Campbell is one of 11 semifinalists for the 2001 Biletnikoff Award, presented annually to the college football’s top receiver by the Tallahassee Quarterback Club Foundation, Inc.
Campbell has caught 42 passes for 572 yards and two touchdowns to lead the 21st-ranked Yellow Jackets. He leads the Atlantic Coast Conference in receptions and receiving yards per game.
The Atlanta native is Tech’s all-time leader in receptions (181), receiving yards (2,771) and touchdown catches (23), ranking among the Top 10 in ACC history in all three categories.
Also named as semifinalists were Jabar Gaffney and Reche Gaffney of Florida, Hawaii’s Ashley Lelie, Washington State’s Nakoa McElrath, Wisconsin’s Lee Evans, LSU’s Josh Reed, Michigan’s Marquise Walker, Tennessee’s Kelley Washington, Marshall’s Darius Watts and Utah State’s Kevin Curtis.
The winner of the 2001 Biletnikoff Award will be announced Dec. 6, and the award’s namesake, College and Pro Football Hall of Fame wide receiver Fred Biletnikoff will make the presentation at the awards banquet Feb. 13 in Tallahassee, Fla.
