SAN FRANCISCO (Feb. 11) – In a match delayed well into the night, the Cal men’s tennis team defeated Georgia Tech, 5-1, Friday, February 11, at the San Francisco Tennis Club.
Due to Friday’s rain in the Bay Area, the match didn’t start until 9 p.m. (midnight Eastern) and was moved indoors at the San Francisco facility.
At No. 1 singles, Cal’s John Paul Fruttero beat Tech’s Roman Coirault, 7-6, 6-2. The Bears also won at the 3-6 positions in singles.
Tech’s only win came at No. 2 where Roger Anderson defeated Erik Dmtruk, 7-6, 4-6, 6-1.
